This illustrated map was my entry to the They Draw & Travel + Stroly Mapping Special Places illustration contest. Sadly, I didn't win but this map was selected along with another 99 others to be published in a TDAT book.
 

About the map:

This map includes a selection of places that I believe are worth visiting when doing a road trip to Enriquillo Lake from Paraíso, Barahona. This place is special to me because it is emotionally connected to my childhood. My dad was born in this region and we took this trip several times by ourselves and with our extended family when my sisters and I were little, and we have many fond memories and funny anecdotes from those trips. The south of the Dominican Republic is beautiful and it is very rich in biodiversity.

Este mapa ilustrado fue mi participación en el concurso de ilustración de They Draw & Travel (Ellos/as Dibujan y Viajan) + Stroly, Mapping Special Places (Mapeando Lugares Especiales). Lamentablemente, no gané, pero este mapa fue seleccionado junto con otros 99 para ser publicados en un libro de TDAT.

Este mapa incluye una selección de lugares que creo vale la pena visitar al hacer un viaje por carretera al Lago Enriquillo desde Paraíso, Barahona. Este lugar es especial para mí porque está conectado emocionalmente con mi infancia. Mi papá nació en esta región e hicimos este viaje varias veces solos y con nuestra familia extendida cuando mis hermanas y yo éramos pequeñas, y tenemos muchos buenos recuerdos y anécdotas divertidas de esos viajes. El sur de la República Dominicana es hermoso y muy rico en biodiversidad.
